Programme: How to Enliven your Vocabulary Teaching
This workshop will present numerous practical activities that teachers can use to enliven their teaching of English vocabulary. 
Topics covered will include phrasal verbs, British and American lexical differences, word-building using suffixes and prefixes, synonyms and antonyms, word games and developing vocabulary in lexical fields (e.g. computers/IT, travelling, food and drink and words to describe upward and downward changes in data and on graphs).
Participants will leave the workshop with a variety of ready-to-use vocabulary worksheets.

BIO of Presenter:

Dennis Davy is Professor of Humanities at EDHEC Business School in Paris, Lille and Nice. After working in Germany, Japan, Algeria, Qatar and Oman, he has been an active member of TESOL France since he
moved to France in 1993. He teaches English, French, soft skills, culture, pitching, CV writing, as well as providing a variety of theme-based courses, including the history of pop and rock music, the
cultures of the English-speaking world, English-speaking African countries, the city of London, British newspapers, and British art and literature.

His primary research interests include business communication, innovation in language pedagogy, English as a Medium of Instruction, discourse analysis in professional contexts, neologisms and word-
formational processes in English and French. In addition to speaking fluent English, French and German, Dennis has a good command of Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic.
He holds degrees from the universities of Oxford, Lancaster and Cambridge in French & German Literature, Language Teaching Pedagogy and English & Applied Linguistics.
Dennis is a passionate language-learner and world-traveller.
