1) Offer from Curtis Bartosik (Paris - face-to-face lessons)
audience : adults studying to be head bartenders.
level : pre-intermediate
personality : outgoing and fun (the students, that is. I take it for granted that anyone on Claire's list is outgoing and fun). Most have worked in a bar many years but are learning management skills to take on more responsibility and be fully in charge of a bar.
content : lots of role plays and scenarios ('scenarii' for your Latin lovers), with lists of appropriate vocabulary -- describing drinks and their ingredients, describing simple dishes, making small talk, welcoming guests.
where : across from the Musée Quai Branly (Haven't been there yet? Visit and I'll reimburse your entry ticket.)
pay : starting at 43€ per hour for independents, plus free drinks in the bars where your students work, in perpetuity
timing : 3 sessions
7th of September -- 13h30 to 17h (with lots of smoke breaks for the students who are mostly puffins, an adorable bird).
And if you like the work, there are two more sessions, - 12 October 13h30 to 17h & 16 November 13h30 to 17h
Collaboration : there is another class at the same time at the same address led by a wonderful teacher that has been teaching the class already for the last 4 years. She can share her experience and course content with you. You can also switch out between breaks with her just for freshness and to change things up.
If interested, please reach out to Curtis Bartosik at curtis.bartosik@gmail.com or give a call at 0664248760.
2) Transport School - Paris 8ème
I will be looking to recruit 1, possibly even 2 trainers for English classes at the Ecole Supérieure des Transports, Paris 8ème, Miromesnil.
The 3-hour classes are on Wednesday mornings from October to June (every other week) at the school in principle (groups of 18-20 sorted by level), but by Zoom if we are locked down again.
I manage this programme and provide teachers with loads of transport-specific content so your preparation will be minimal. We also use an LMS site called Experquiz for individual and online practice during and between classes. Again, the teacher's input is minimal - it's just about learning to allocate exercises and then check students' activity.
The school prefers people to be self-employed without VAT. The hourly rate is around 66/67€ an hour.
We prepare the students for the BEST Transport & Logistics test.
