Jobs 9th April 2021 (oral & written skills evaluators)

We are currently looking for 3 trainers with experience of assessing oral and written production according to the CEFR levels to help in the validation of a new international placement test.

The participants will be required to :

- attend a half-day web meeting (3.5-4 hours) in the week of the 24th April (time to fix in agreement with the participants)

During this session we will analyse and grade the oral and written production of 10 test candidates to harmonise grading.

Following that, each evaluator will have to analyse and grade individually the oral & written production of another 20-30 candidates (which we estimate should take about 10-15 mins per candidate) and put the grades onto an Excel spreadsheet. This will have to be done in the following week or 2.

A bit later on, the team of 3 will be required to assess around 100 candidates each (probably in May/June).

The candidate's answers will be accessed via the admin side of the test platform. We will show you how to do this during the initial web meeting and we'll draw up a simple step by step guide as to how to  find the students' answers.

Anyone who gets stressed about IT platforms should probably not apply 6 though we will do our best to make it easy!

We will come to an agreement over the fee on a per candidate basis once we have confirmed the average time required.

The ideal candidates for this work would be English trainers who are already doing oral and written assessments using the CEFR levels (ie. for Cambridge, FBCCI etc.)

We will also need to find a few dozen students willing to do the test which includes Grammar, Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. All done on the test platform.

The total time of the test would be between 1h30 and 2h (depending on the level) and it can be broken down into sections.

Students participating in these tests will receive their scores & CEF levels.

The test is a general/professional test covering levels A1-C1.

How about giving yourself an easy class one day by getting your students to do this test some time in the week of 19th April?

If interested, please contact me, Claire Oldmeadow at claire@thelanguagenetwork.fr - I am in charge of test production and quality for this project.
